The park was built at the location of the Ben Lomond swimming pool, opening in May 1996.Among slides and wading pools, the facility also houses a 25-meter competition pool.
All in all, good summer fun on a hot day. Buying tickets, getting in the park, etc was super organized. The food is just ok but I think that is to be expected. They even had a sign that said closed for cleaning for a few minutes ....not sure what they did during the times the bathroom was closed but they sure didn't clean it! Twist and turn as fast as you can and see who can splash down at the bottom first! Enough space even when it is in capacity ! I not only lived in the townhouses directly behind the park from ages 2-15 (fourth one in in all the pictures ;) ) but I also swam/coached for the swim team from 5-20 AND worked there as a lifeguard for 2 seasons. Screaming is allowed and encouraged! Be sure to go early on summer weekends because they will turn people away when they reach capacity.Great waterpark ! The Serpentines is a high speed open top single tube ride with 3 different slides to choose from! "My husband and I took our 5-year-old son here on a cold Sunday afternoon and had a blast. Water depth is 3’.Lone Star Luge is our tallest tube slide with single, double or even triple tubes to ride with! So much so that I felt comfortable letting my youngest out of my sight here and there knowing he was being watched. Rafts and life jackets are free (first come first serve). But then again when my child went down the slide and had a bit a a panic attack I asked the life guard can I go get her ? It's geared mostly towards younger kids, about 13 years old or less. Rest rooms were disgusting ! These are teenagers trying to get some job experience and work with their friends.
I will rather go to the other water Parks in the area before driving so far to not feel welcome .Manassas Historic District, Manassas Historic District, VAThis place is fun but not big enough. It's not just for kids; adults are also…Summer Skill Builder Clinics will run weekly now thru August at both school locations! Great customer service and very clean ! So much so that I felt comfortable letting my youngest out of my sight here and there knowing he was being watched.I'm giving this place three stars for the following reasons:Lady at the counter denied my military discount, the park is over crowded, doesn't seem like the filters in the pools work bc debris was numerous, the lazyboy river wasn't calming at all bc they allowed teens to go crazy in there and most of them didn't use tubes.
But there could be some improvement:Coming back here was very nostalgic for me. There are some good play options for kids this age, which is why we love coming to this park.

This is the place where fun is encouraged and there are always new opportunities to find exciting and active ways to play. If they aren't going to either hire more efficient workers 'how about at least giving us the option of bringing in our ow m food ! Definitely an all day fun experience !Been coming here for a few years now and have to say it's not the same....the food service is just horrible ....takes an act of Congress just to order food ...I realize it's kids they hire but they obviously should have adult supervision !

Okay last week when I came they turn me away because off too many ppl okay so I drove back Down the following week being one of the first ppl in line and it was fun not too crowded but this park is way different from the other water park locations the life guards are rude and it feels like they are being watched heavily and they are not allowed to speak to the guest. Parking was free and plentiful. The lazy river is amazingly run and relaxing and the water slides are addictive, even for me!
The life guards do an amazing job watching every person carefully. Splash Island is 4 stories with 8 slides, tipping buckets, 50’ dancing waters and a 500-gallon tidal wave sure to cool you down!
