Unfortunately, the heavy rains, frost mixed with warm, sunny days put the trails at a high risk of deterioration when used. Popular activities are picnicking, swimming in the pool, hiking, biking, disc golfing, hunting, fishing, and boating.The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset.

Some park areas are closed to vehicles in the winter. The marina has also been set with ice already forming around the docks. The Environmental Education Center is only open for programs.Teacher workshops and educational programs for schools are available.
