RAVENFLOW DONATES $1 MILLION IN SOFTWARE TO UNIVERSITIES

EMERYVILLE, CA—March 30, 2009—Ravenflow™, the leader in Business Requirements Definition™, today announced that dozens of universities across the U.S. and Canada have downloaded its award-winning RAVEN software for teaching students best practices in elicitation and definition of requirements and business processes.

"Students reported that RAVEN was very helpful in refining use cases," said Bob Glushko, professor at the University of California at Berkeley in the School of Information, who used RAVEN in his course on Information Systems and Service Design. "RAVEN required us to remove ambiguity in our statements. It helps us come out with clear and precise processes. This is, for me, the most important advantage and strength that Ravenflow has compared to other manual or software-assisted techniques. Most graphing and process modeling software will help you present the work in an easily readable format, but won't really help you in creating a clear and unambiguous concept flow."

The Ravenflow University program enables the free use of RAVEN at accredited universities for teaching and research purposes. Universities across North America have joined the program and incorporated RAVEN into their courses, including the University of California at Berkeley, Neumont University in Utah, and the University of Victoria, Canada and many more. Instructions for joining the program free of charge are on Ravenflow’s website at www.ravenflow.com.

"Ravenflow is honored to be associated with UC Berkeley and all of our university partners," said Susan Boers, president and CEO of Ravenflow. "As business requirements definition becomes an important area for research and teaching, we intend to work closely with our academic partners to train the next generation of business leaders."
