Whilst fellow peloton members can pair to your Varia to share in your vehicle warnings, the reality is they won’t and all your fellow cyclists will do is moan that your light is too bright…not now with PELOTON MODE.I have a Cervelo R5 and the old mounts simply do not properly work on the D-shape cross section of my seat post.

I have the radar since today and pairing with my edge 830 works fine, but I can figure out how to control it on the Fenix 6 Pro. Just wanted to verify before I dropped the money on a new sensor.Just an update, contacted support, deleted app and reinstalled, paired Varia first then the speed and cadence sensor and all appears to be working.My RVR315 yesterday stopped sending warnings to my 520 head unit. I feel naked riding without it. I had $90 dividends from REI so I pulled the trigger on the “old” model two weeks ago. ThanksJust put this in the “swinging for the wall” category…Does the radar work when obstructed?

You need copy it to a temporary space first and then change boot address, otherwise it can fail badly (nice explained by Mike – The soft device is much more than a driver. Sure, there many options how to do upgrades reliable and in case they used nRF52 with 256kB of flash it can be really just not enough to do OTA – you cant just overwrite your flash with a new code. Pressing it one more time will power off the light, but leave on the radar. For example, one of them works with aero seat posts that are more v-like. Thanks.I’ve had the Gen 1 radar for 3+ years. I haven’t been able to re-test that much lately though given restrictions.There are few apps in the world that are as simplistic as the Garmin Varia Radar app. It has a mode where you can disable the light while still having the radar on.Night mode pulses the light. Got the new order in. So far, it has been working flawlessly (for the most part) and I love it. I too am that crazy gadget guy and if I had to only keep one then it would be the radar paired with the vision display. You just become numb to it. And you can turn the color overlays on or off:As for mounting it, the box comes with a seat post mount and three different adjustment shims, depending on the type of seat post you have. However, a major downside I noticed is…it really drains the battery life on the 520, using it in daytime flash mode. A car going twenty mph over the speed limit, or a car going the speed limit, but with two wheels over the fog line and into the shoulder?The cars you care about most as a Fly6 user are the ones with no angular rate, indicating an impending collision, and that the video should start recording. The rubber mount that comes with the Garmin Varia Radar is dreadful and undermines what is otherwise a decent product.The 3D printed custom mounts are unfortunately expensive but I discovered that Garmin themselves make a plastic moulded mount for the Varia (and is available from regular distributors). Garmin got lucky and picked up a start-up at just the right time. Your other option is to pair the Varia to the mobile Varia Radar app and use bluetooth headphones or the mobile phone volume may be loud enough?I see your issues. My Edge 820 seems to lose about half of its battery life if I have my (previous gen) Varia connected.Do you see Garmin’s competitors entering the radar market?It’s just too hard.
