Even if I'm giving this Morrison LP a one star review, it is still a great great album gang.

The songs are so personal and idiosyncratic in nature that they have not been covered by well-known musicians except for versions of "Fair Play" and "Linden Arden Stole the Highlights" by The album cover photograph shows Morrison sitting in the grass between two Irish wolfhounds.

Sir George Ivan "Van" Morrison OBE (born 31 August 1945) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and record producer. Van Morrison has never been know for wonderful album covers, matter of fact, his Hard Nose The Highway has to be one of the all time worst covers ever.

The final album of Van Morrison 's remarkably prolific and innovative 1968-1974 period (followed by three years of silence), Veedon Fleece brings the singer full circle, returning him to the introspection and poignancy of Astral Weeks. During the summer months of 1973, Morrison had embarked on a three-month tour with his eleven-piece band, In 1978, Morrison recalled that he recorded the songs about four weeks after writing them: "The songs, as recorded on the album, were influenced by his vacation trip to The opening track, "Fair Play" derived its name from Morrison's Irish friend, Donall Corvin's repeated use of the Irish colloquialism "fair play to you" as a wry compliment.

Does anyone else's copy have side A cut into both sides? Main example, Bad Company. An absolutely perfect pressing of this classic album, one of my favorite VMP releases Absolutely AMAZING. Out of the 10,000+ lps I own. My father pulled into Tower Sunset & we bought it.

Great balance, full depth, excellent remaster.

Incredible songs, musicianship...fantastic record. Each track feels like a broken heart.
