It does a great job of showing us the clothing of the people who have the emotions, and the rooms they live in, and the way light falls on their faces, and how they look when they escape across the frozen north in a bobsled. She falls in love with one brother, Ed, and she helps them escape and goes with them. Ultimately, the motive becomes love, the two who have fallen for each other. The woman remains in a hospital until she's healed and thrown in prison for abetting the brothers.

Not wanting to return to her old life, The woman talks Ed into shooting her too. What happens to the three is affected largely by that public mindset, some who want them caught at all cost, some who want solely to say they were involved in dealing with the famous Biddle brothers, and some who believe them innocent and want them to succeed. The police chase them and catch up to them in a country field. Effectively captures the 1901 setting, yet a dark pall fairly strangles any emotion.
