mac asking for enterprise credentials

mac asking for enterprise credentials

Should just recognise my MAC. For some reason, the Mac says it's an enterprise network and asks for a username and password.

Re: MAC Authentication & 802.1x keeps asking for username & password

I dont want to use any key but need users to authenticate through MAC addressI found the problem, the ipad I was working on for some reasons wouldnt authenticate the mac address in internal DB no matter how much I tried. You should see in the logs if the client tried MAC auth first and then failedI've also checked L2 Auth Fail through but didnt help, it shoud just work even without L2 Auth Fail through checked, if MAC authenticate properly (which it doesnt). What is your suggestion?1. Adding a new location and trying that - didn't recognize it.

Once users enter their credentials, they won't be required to provide them again.

WPA2 Enterprise is obviously focused more on business users.

Can you explain the 'fast roaming'? I changed to another ipad and wah lah, mac authenticated and user role assigned perfectlyI also got rid of 802.1x auth as it is no neccessary.

On MacOS, Teams will prompt users to enter their username and credentials and may prompt for multi-factor authentication depending on your organization's settings. From that point on, Teams automatically starts whenever they're working on the same computer. This person is a verified professional.

Everything was working fine for months until just recently the computer running Windows 10 all of a sudden asks me to enter a Network username and password. Older iOS versions do not recognize this feature and get confused when trying to connect. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.

None of my machines have any passwords set anywhere.

Hoping you can helpI want to setup a restricted SSID for some enrolling purpose using MAC Authentication (through Aruba Controller) so personal devices cant join this SSIDI created user in internal DB with MAC address for username and passwordI created SSID with 802.1x authentication with WPA2 Enterprise encryption and authentication server is InternalAAA profile pointing to correct MAC Authentication profile and server group (see pic)But when I join the SSID with my ipad (with MAC addy already in Internal DB), it keeps asking for username and password? Check the unit's settings to make sure the radio is on, the network settings allow for both wireless and wired to be active simultaneously, and that both are set for DHCP.

(it is different then MAC Auth)- Create username and password in internaldb (not Mac Address)Yes the MAC Authentication profile matching the format used in internalDB (semicolon, lower)Yes I have 802.1x Auth enabled, but I thought I can use this as a fall back when MAC Auth fails.

Quit out of all Office for Mac apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.

If you do, remove them and keep the SSID simple to just letters and numbers.Sounds like it has a bad cache for the Wi-Fi network in OS X, assuming other devices connect to the same WAP fine??

We finally figured this out at our place.

My mac 10.6.8 (yes I know it is outdated) has worked completely fine and works on other wifi networks no problem except at my office.

Adding a new location and trying that.

Search for "keychain" in Spotlight and launch the Keychain Access app.

Other options (apart from 802.1x authentication) are strong encryption with shared key, weak encryption with WEP key and no authentication.

I've tried connecting other devices at the same WAP and they work fine.

I'm still seeing this on a number of devices running 10.7.5Has this issue been resolved?

We finally figured this out at our place. We have multiple access points and with some of the later firmware a new feature became available called "Fast Roaming" or 802.11r; I'm sure different wireless manufacturers call it by different names.

Thankyou in advanceI recommend that you take a look at this post and see if this is what you are trying to accomplish.Yes it is what I'm trying to achieve, but MAC Auth failed and username and password keeps coming up.

This is great for businesses because they have the resources to set up a server for authentication.

I have seen a LOT of macs run into connectivity/errors with WiFi networks that include special characters in the SSID.

did you have this setup ?

Mac users.

Select the login keychain entry in the top left navigator pane, then from the File menu, choose Lock Keychain "login" .
