Rioli played representative football for the Northern Territory in the 2015 Under-18 championships where he appeared in three matches for the side.At the 2015 Draft Combine he recorded impressive results, finishing second in the 20 metre sprint and first in the 30 metre repeat sprint tests.The lingering effects of his previous year's foot injury saw Rioli miss the entirety of the club's 2018 pre-season training including a second surgery to remove the previously inserted metal plates.Rioli spend the 2018/19 off-season training as a part time midfielder in addition to his forward-line duties.Rioli took part in each of his club's two pre-season series matches in March before kicking an equal-team high three goals in a season-opening win over Rioli plays primarily as a defensive small forward and is rated elite for his ability to apply forward-half pressure and create turnovers among opposition defenders.In March 2018 he began dating Mia Fevola, the step-daughter of former Daniel Rioli of the Richmond Tigers AFL games played and stats. He is a two-time premiership player with the club and in 2017 he received the award for the AFL's Goal of the Year .
